Andes Consulting is a firm working on new concepts in the fields of education, sustainable human settlements, ecotourism and organic food and fabrics imports.

Andes Consulting is shaped into two main divisions:

Andes Studies and Andes Trades

Andes Studies works in the field of education and is currently starting a cooperative venture with Telemark University College in Norway (Høgskolen i Telemark). Andes Studies is the enterprise in charge of recruiting students who are about to take the spanish language as part of their bachelor degrees. The semester in Spanish Language and Latin American Culture starting in the Fall 2010, offers students 4 studytrips included in the semester course, 30 university/College credits which can be used as part of a university/College degree and the oportunity to study abroad in an ecological Educational Ecocenter. At El Poncho Ecocenter students will surely be inspired to think about the state of the planet, so the course in itself, will be a mixture of increasing awareness, studies and getting to know the culture from the inside while travelling.

Andes Studies has already begun to give monthly courses in Ecovillage Design Education EDE. These courses have the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (UNDESD) stemple and are certified by Gaia Education (GE). The first course of this type in Scandinavia summer 2009, was very succesful.

Andes Trades works with organic and ecological product imports, introducing new and more environmentally friendly products, and organizing ecotours to the Andes region.

Andes Consulting also lends services designing sustainable human settlements. AC has recently helped starting a new ecovillage in Telemark, Norway and made the basic design for the site.

Andes consulting's main office is stablished in Telemark, Norway organizing courses and recruiting students for the Spanish and Latin American Culture semester study in Bolivia.

Andes Consulting is involved in the redesign and retrofitting of a fantastic area in Brazil, to serve as our new study center.

Andes Consulting is also one of the creators of the Pachamama Project that is bringing the first reed boat 12 meter long, to sail in the Norwegian fjords, home of the visionary and adventurer Thor Heyerdahl. We are building the first reed boat building school in the world and also organizing the PEACE festival in Norway june 2011.

Andes Consulting has also been part of the team working to design the first roof garden in Norway for the Oslo Havnelager building in cooperation with Norwegian Taiji Center. This garden pretends to be an example of urban self sustainability and we really hope that the owners of the building ENTRA, will go for this green proposal.

The time for green social entrepreneurship has arrived. The world cannot take the abuse of enterprises that just take, cut or destroy in order to make a quick buck. It is the time for businesses, to make a consequence analysis and for economists to include the environmental and social cost in their budget proposals.
